February 4th, 2022: Heceta Head, Oregon, USA
The scene is initially built using a combination of radar and satellite images from space, LiDAR scans from a fixed wing airplane, and both photogrammetry and texture scans taken on-location at the Haceta Head Lighthouse on the Oregon Coast in February 2022.
This real world data is used to create a complete 2KM by 2KM 3D reconstruction of the scene allowing the artist to place a virtual camera (with real world focal length, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO) and then compose and capture this iconic landscape image.
This is the first in a series of "virtual landscapes" that will be created using real data from iconic locations around the world under this smart contract.
